Nikon D700

The Nikon D700 is the latest addition to the Nikon D series electronic cameras. The biggest difference between the D700 and its earlier D series digital cousins is the scale of the sensor. The D700 is a real 35mm format with a digital sensor that could be a 23.9mm by 36mm. Nikon has elected the new format as FX versus DX for its earlier digital SLR cameras. When you consider all of the features available and the indisputable fact that the D700 will use just about any Nikon lens produced since 1974, the D700 offers substantial bang for the major greenhorn or working professional's buck. If your stable of Nikon lens include both FX and DX lens, both can be employed on the D700 though if a DX lens is utilized, the camera will sense this and if vehicle DX crop is selected in the Image Area menu, the camera will instantly set the right picture area for that lens.

Some and factors of the Nikon D700 are these :

One. It will allow you to use your older 35mm Nikon lens in their true format.

Two. The majority of the camera's control functions are similiar to earlier Nikon D series cameras. So , if you are the owner of or have owned a D100, D200 or D300 as an example, the majority of the controls will be familiar.

Three. It is believed to be a sophisticated amateur's or pro user's camera and due to its weight and size, the D700 is considered by many to be good for the marriage snapper.

Four. If the user is that way inclined, the camera may be employed with the settings as shipped from the factory and for most circumstances the D700 will do a brilliant job.

Five. The camera is shipped with a superb user's manual. Cons : none! To date, my D700 has taken 2000+ photos and has worked immaculately. This piece only scratches the outer layer of the features available on the D700 and its precedent the D300. I'm going to be exploring a few of these features in the future articles and presenting my discoveries.
